“Change the World” (portrait of Elon Musk)
24” X 30” – Oil on Birch Panel
In my opinion, Elon Musk is today’s version of Benjamin Franklin. A great visionary, a proven entrepreneur, and someone, who when it is all said and done, will have changed the course of history and the future for an entire race.
In this painting are 32 facts about Elon Musk’s life and legacy (thus far), some well known and others not so much. The kitchen timer on the robot’s hip pivot works, so feel free to dial it to five minutes and see if you can locate all 32 facts about Elon before the bell dings.
In case you missed some they are:
The Boring Company
University Of Pennsylvania
Stanford (though only for 2 days)
4 Family Members:
-Elon was born in South Africa – June 28th, 1971
-Canadian Citizen (from birth due to passage of Bill-C37 in 2009)
-His mother was a Canadian citizen when she gave birth to him in South Africa
-Elon became a US Citizen 2002
-Learned to program using a Commodore VIC20, and at age 12 sold the code for a video game he created for $500 to PC and Office Technology Magazine.
-At age 8 Elon read the entire Encyclopedia Britannica.
Other little hidden gems on the painting are the Moon on the elbow, the red dot in the starry sky outside the window, the Rocket Thrust Summary scribbled on the wall behind him, his body is styled after the Dragon Space Capsule, the reflection is his eyes of a Dragon 9 Launch taking place, the “SOL” spelled out by the power cord, the red ball, and the letter L on the floor stands for “Sol” (or SUN) as a reference to SolarCity.
