Description
I painted this one because when my wife was growing up in Florida, she used to volunteer to help make sure the newly hatch turtles found their way to the ocean… and I thought “that is really cool, kinda like what my mom and dad did for me”. You see, lights from parking lots, hotels, condos, and shopping centers confuse the little guyz and sometimes they need a little helping hand to make it to the water. Even then, only 1 out of 100 survive. Sometimes it is predators, sometimes it’s boat props (the robot is made from an old Johnson outboard motor), sometimes plastic litter (lower left corner) is ingested because they think it looks a lot like a jelly fish (a dietary staple). We all need a helping hand from time to time.
This is painting number 20 in the robot series by Alann J.
The original Canvas is no longer available. It was sold 11.26.17 in Melbourne Florida
