Description
What can I say, robots smoked when I was a kid, I had a robot that would walk a few steps, then his chest opened up, he shot some harmless sparks, resumed walking while smoke came out his ears. It was awesome. But you can’t buy that kind of toy anymore because it is “dangerous Will Robinson”!! You can buy reproductions… but they DON’T SPARK OR SMOKE. So I decided to paint my displeasure with such ludicrous laws regulating the toy industry by painting “STALLED” early in the robot series, and then this one, “Smokin’ In The Toy’s Room”. Believe me, the carpet, the paint, the lead pipes, and the drinking water (Flint) in my younger days was worse than anything that sparking and smoking robot could have done.
This painting is #12 in the series and you’ll find that number embossed on the red plastic meter housing on his chest. If you look closely, you can see his mother reflected in his eyes. Busted!
