Description
This painting depicts a typical spring breaker who drank way-too-much, played way-too-hard, attended every party there was, and is now ending up going home with a broken leg.
Oh to be young again…
Upon closer observation you will notice the iHop sticker on his broken leg… this is because his leg is broken and he can no longer walk. The “Oil’d No 7” sticker is there for two reasons: drinking too much oil, and because it is painting #7 in the series. This is the FIRST painting that bears a purposeful number indicating the that this is the 7th painting in the series (I was beginning to lose track of which came first, second, third, etc). Anyway, if you turn the numbers on his speedometer and odometer upside down they spell “HELLO” and “OIL”. A real interactive watch spring sticks out of the pumice sand just below the break in his leg. The oil cans are actual brands of oil from days gone by because they seemed to fit in well with the theme of Spring Break: Penn State, Trojan, Beaver, and LUBE Heavy Duty oil.
This painting has won a Best Of Show award and 1 Award of Distinction.
